Info Desk: Do you like to help others? The Info Desk is our frontline for engaging others and showing hospitality to first-time guests, regular attenders, and covenant members. Volunteers connect, provide information, and assist to make sure that each person coming through the doors has a welcoming experience. This volunteer would need to be a Covenant Member at Redemption Hill.
Hospitality Team: Do you like meet new people and make them feel welcome? The Hospitality Team is best described by Romans 12:13 to “Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.” Team members are assigned an area of the building before the worship service to roam and be hospitable and friendly. These volunteers are looking to create connections with others, answer questions, provide directions to the right area, and assist as needed.
Usher: Sometimes it can feel intimidating as a new guest entering the building. The Usher greets those who are entering the auditorium with a smile and a worship guide. In addition, these volunteers may assist in collecting for the offering during the worship service. An usher understands that there is a high level of accountability and responsibility as stewards of what we are given.
Coffee Haus: Do you love coffee and love people? The Coffee Haus volunteer provides a hospitable environment in serving coffee and tea to those who attend our service. Volunteers need to come prior to the start of the service(s) to prepare coffee and ensure there are sufficient supplies.
Greeting Team: Do you enjoy making others feel welcome? The Greeters are stationed at both our North and South entrances. Their purpose is to open the doors of the church for those coming in, provide a warm and friendly greeting, and assist as needed.
Worship (During Services)
Sound Team: Do you have a desire to technologically support our worship services? The Sound Team manages the audio components during the worship service. Volunteers make sure that what happens during the service is heard with clarity. This includes running the sound board and recording the sermon. Prior experience is not required to volunteer for this position.
Visual Team: Would you enjoy assisting in the leading of our worship from behind a computer? The Visual Team controls the the lighting for the service and media during the worship service. This involves electronic light settings, projecting text onto the screens, and video-recording the sermon. Prior experience is not required to volunteer for this position.
Worship Team: Do you have a passion for music and how it is used to edify the church body? We believe that as Christians we are called to exist in a state of constant worship which permeates all of life (I Corinthians 10:31).
While music is only a very small part of our actual worship, it is a very important part. Hundreds of references are to be found in the Bible concerning musical worship, and we believe that the church should often and regularly join together in songs of praise to our God (Psalm 100:2; 149:5; Hebrews 2:12).
We believe that worshipping together allows us to draw close to the presence of God and that it strengthens our affections for him in a profound way. Involvement in the worship ministry is the facilitation of this worship, a service to the people of the church as we draw near to God and He draws near to us (James 4:8). This volunteer would need to be a Covenant Member at Redemption Hill.
Kids and Youth
Youth Leader/Assistant: Do you enjoy ministering to teens? The youth in our city desperately need the gospel and discipleship. So all of our events and activities are designed to help our youth receive those two emphases. We believe our youth need mentors who love God. It is ultimately the responsibility of the Christian family to raise up young men and women into Christ-like maturity. But we also realize that there are many youth who lack a Christian presence in their home. Our goal is to meet students where they are, love them, and speak truth into their lives. This volunteer would need to be a Covenant Member at Redemption Hill.
Children's Ministry: The words of God in Deuteronomy 6 make it clear that God gives parents the responsibility of educating, training, and nurturing their children in the things of God and the gospel of Jesus. God has given the church the task of assisting parents. Our Children’s Ministry seeks to help connect the home and the church.
In addition, it is a top priority that are children are kept safe and cared for by those who are properly trained.
Volunteers are needed for teaching, assisting in classrooms, and providing care and oversight. Those who teach must be covenant members.
There are many Children’s Ministry opportunities. Children from birth through 3rd grade are invited to participate in our specially designed, age appropriate, learning environments.
- Babyland: Birth to 24 months
- Toddlerville: Ages 2 & 3
- Beginner Buddies: Ages 4 - Kindergarten
- Primary Pals: Grades 1, 2, 3
- Tweens Adventure Club meets mid-week.
Child Check-In: The safety and care of the children in our church is a top priority. One of the ways that we help provide a secure environment is having parents electronically check in their kids (ages birth to 3rd grade) prior to taking them to their room. Volunteers will assist parents in checking in their kids at one of our three check-in stations located in the front lobby.
Missions: Are you excited about how the church reaches out to fulfill the Great Commission within and beyond the walls of our own city? As a church, we endeavor to support local ministries, missionaries, and church planters with meaningful fellowship, significant financial support, and faithful prayer. We desire that our church body be exposed more to God’s heart on missions through the volunteers that serve on our missions team. Being part of our missions team provides opportunities to communicate with our missionaries, assist in meeting needs, and collaborate in moving our missions program more into the hands of our congregation. This volunteer would need to be a Covenant Member at Redemption Hill.
Cleaning Team: Are you more of a behind-the-scenes volunteer? The Cleaning Team serves the church through helping to maintain the interior and exterior of our building. Their behind-the-scenes work is of great value in helping to care for our church property and be good stewards of what God has entrusted to our body. Volunteers assist by vacuuming, dusting, taking out trash, completing projects, and other general tasks around our facility.
Facilities Team: Are you skilled with your hands? With a large complex, there are many needs that can be met. Opportunities such as snow shoveling, painting, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing present themselves periodically in order to have a functioning and comfortable facility for those who attend our worship services and programs. If you have special skill sets in any of these areas, we would love to have you serve as projects and needs arise.
Communion: Can you serve our church body in communion? Communion is a wonderful time of remembrance and community for our body of believers. Volunteers are assigned to one of six designated locations in the auditorium. The Communion Team assists during the worship service by holding the elements of bread and juice for those who came to participate. This volunteer would need to be a Covenant Member at Redemption Hill.
Special Events: Would you be willing to serve on an as-needed basis? Throughout the year, there are special opportunities to serve our church body or our community. Volunteers are needed to do set up, take down, or other tasks. The success of an event is dependent on those who join hands to make it happen.
